The Shearling Mountain Jacket is an expertly made "shirt-jac" style constructed with premium Italian milled Tech-Wool Melton and Polartec® RetroPile Shearling fleece. Like classic Woodsman Shirt, the Shearling Mountain Shirt is like one of your grandfather's favorite outdoor shirts from a vintage era, but better. Shirt-jacs fulfilled a niche when a shirt wasn't quite warm enough for chilly weather, but due to more active pursuits, a full winter weight jacket was too much. These styles of classic shirts were typically lined, so warmer than just a shirt, but light enough to not restrict movement while active. Layer over your favorite waffle thermal, Shearling Mountain Shirt is perfectly suited for a day of cutting and hauling firewood in the forest to running an errand in your drafty 109, and use around the campsite when things chill down in the evenings.
Custom Italian milled Tech-Wool Melton is densely woven, robust and rugged, softer than typical Melton Wool, and is now easier care. Tech-Wool insulates when wet, quiet, wears year after year, and just pop it in the wash when it gets dirty. The interior is lined with plush, luxe Polartec Retropile Shearling fleece for exceptional comfort and additional warmth, and the sleeves are lined with smooth, 3M, quilted, poly baffling. Ample pockets include additional chest pocket organizers; one pen-pencil slot and a pen knife pocket, 2 lower hand warmer pockets, and 2 inside stash pockets for smart-phones and pocket notebooks. Double reinforced elbows keeps the typical wear points more durable, a touch borrowed from vintage US Navy type work shirts of a different era, and engineered single arm-side panel construction allow for freedom of arm movement unlike other button up shirts being made today. The Shearling Mountain Jacket is equally at home in the wilderness, at the workshop, or inside the cabin of your favorite overlanding rig.
