Riku Vastamäki is a young and inventive Finnish knife smith who handcrafts stunning custom knives. Vastamäki possesses a unique skill in blending classical and modern elements, exemplified by this knife.

In essence, it is a typical Scandinavian knife in terms of design and materials. However, its execution makes it unique, modern, and an entirely distinctive piece. It features an exceptionally hard (HRC 62–63) carbon steel blade, an ergonomic curly birch handle, and a robust leather sheath. The partially stabilized handle captures attention with its color scheme, which is echoed in the sheath. The epoxy cast ferrule is a clever idea that adds a rustic yet modern touch to the knife.
