Harri Laine is a relatively new knife maker based in Lahti, who sells his knives under the Hardy Knives name. He made his first knife in 2016, and just a few years later, in 2020, he won the gold medal in the Finnish National Puukko competition with his impressive 'Riistanvartija' hunting knife.
Laine creates traditional puukkos, hunting knives, kitchen knives, and custom solutions based on his clients' requests. He prefers materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel, depending on the knife. His finest knives feature damascus steel that he personally forges. When it comes to handle materials, Laine is quite versatile. While traditional Finnish woods are often used, he occasionally experiments with exotic wood types. Stabilized wood, in particular, is one of his favorites.
