Iisakki Järvenpää
Iisakki Järvenpää is one of the oldest puukko making companies in Finland. Iisakki Järvenpää started as self-employed handcrafter in 1879. After a failed five-year experiment of working for knife factory, Iisakki started his own knife company in Kauhava in 1904. Iisakki Järvenpää could be considered as a history maker for Kauhava. Iisakki was asked to make knives for Prince Roayl and the future Emperor Nicholas II of Russia. Time flies and today the knife factory still stands in the center of Kauhava and the company keeps producing traditional puukkos.
