Description

Old times village blacksmiths forged all kinds of items including puukko blades. Frequently blacksmiths made simple handles, but they did not work with leather; therefore, puukkos were sold without a sheath.

A village smith puukko does not have bolsters. In old times, a tang was friction fitted in a narrow hole. Today epoxy glue is generally used.

Lauri 80CrV2 double hardened (edge 63 HRC, spine 50 HRC). Scandi grind.

Length 3" (75 mm) or 4" (105 mm). Thickness 1/8" (3.3 mm).

The hidden tang has slots and it is epoxy glued into the handle.

Light version: Curly Birch oiled by boiled linseed oil.
