The art of forging has passed though many generations of the Puronvarsi family to Yrjö Puronvarsi, who created the YP Taonta smith. Today the family's crafting tradition is continued by Antti Mäkinen, Yrjö's grandson. Antti is not only keeping the family's reputation for excellent hand-forged blades alive, but he also makes a selection of products including puukkos, tools and axes.
