G. Sakai Bosen Tenchi hunting knife
Description
The TENCHI is a counterpart of the Kentauros because of
coexistence of the Japanese sensitivity and Western paragon.
The blade made out of SLD clad steel successfully depicts an image of
Japanese old traditional technic of blacksmith by the stamp of random
pattern on the upper flat area.
The SLD (dies steel) is high grade version of SKD11 in JIS standard, which has recentlybeen developed by a leading metal company in Japan.
The main ingredient of the SLD steel is high carbon, chrome and molybdenum vanadium. The worthy of mention is that 1.0% of molybdenum and 0.3% of vanadium was added to 1.5% of carbon and 12.0% of chrome.
It is very reliable in terms of tensile strength, hardness, ductility, wear resistance and long retainment of razor sharp edge..
The symmetrical mahogany handle may be a reminiscence of the typical
handle style of bayonet in WW1 and WWll.
