Description
Hultafors Wedge VK 1200 RA is an additional tool that makes splitting thick pieces of wood easier.
The wedge should be inserted into the crack between the fibers of the log or firewood and struck on the flat striking surface with the back of the axe or a hammer. The heavy wedge will deeply penetrate the wood between the fibers and split it with its thicker part.
The narrow part of the wedge has a textured pattern of "chevrons" that provides better grip on the wood.
The wedge is made from carbon steel, which has been repeatedly forged to improve its density and strength, allowing it to withstand powerful hammer blows.
