Helikon-Tex was founded in Poland in 1983. Initially, the company focused mainly on reselling military surplus products. It launched its own clothing production in the late 1990s.

Today, the production includes a wide range of apparel and gear for both enthusiasts and professionals. Tactical clothing remains part of the lineup, but a vast range of outdoor and hiking apparel, survival clothing, and gear such as backpacks, waist packs, pants, jackets, and shirts has been added.
